1. Who we are
Dachsi is run by Alexander Salomon, Verganistrasse 16, 3644 Emmersdorf, Austria. You can reach us at support@dachsi.app.
2. Using Dachsi
You need to be at least 16 to use Dachsi. Your licence to the app is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and these terms add the rules specific to Dachsi. Apple isn't responsible for Dachsi or its content.
Dachsi is for your own learning. Please don't copy its content, scrape it, take the app apart or interfere with how it runs.
3. Your subscription
Dachsi needs a subscription, which is monthly or yearly. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. The app and the App Store show the price for your country before you confirm.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm, or when the free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription on your iPhone in Settings, under your name, Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Dachsi account doesn't cancel it.
Apple handles billing and refunds, which you can request at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn't affect your statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal.
4. YouTube
Dachsi uses YouTube API Services to show videos. By using Dachsi, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. The Google Privacy Policy applies to what YouTube does with your data.
The videos belong to their creators and play in YouTube's official player. We don't control them or anything YouTube shows in the player, including ads, and a clip can stop being available at any time.
5. Learning content
Subtitles, translations and word information are partly created automatically and can contain mistakes. Dictionary data comes partly from Wiktionary, under the CC BY-SA licence, through kaikki.org.
Dachsi is here to help you learn, but we can't promise a particular result, such as passing an exam or reaching a level.
6. The feedback board
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Please don't post anything hateful, harassing, sexual or violent, spam, or anything illegal or that infringes someone's rights.
You can report posts and comments, and block other users. We look at reports as quickly as we can, normally within 24 hours. We can remove content and close the accounts of people who break these rules.
What you post stays yours, and you allow us to show it in Dachsi.
7. Ending things
You can stop using Dachsi at any time and delete your account in the app's Settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we ever shut Dachsi down, we'll tell you in advance.
8. Availability and liability
We work to keep Dachsi running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We're fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever mandatory law requires it. For slight negligence, we're liable only for breaches of essential obligations, and only for the typical, foreseeable damage. Nothing here limits your mandatory consumer rights.
9. Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We'll tell you in the app before significant changes apply.
10. Applicable law
Austrian law applies, except where the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in gives you more protection. If you're a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of that country. If something's wrong, please write to us first, and we'll try to sort it out.
